Marvel’s “Iron Man 3? pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
Director Shane Black‘s Iron Man 3 stars Robert Downey, Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, James Badge Dale and Ben Kingsley.
The movie opens nationwide on May 3rd. Is your butt gonna be in a theater seat that weekend? Any thoughts on what fans might find out by registering? The Mighty Marvel Movie Marketing Machine is shifting into 3rd gear. We should be seeing lots more in the next few weeks.
You’re a multi-million dollar Hollywood franchise and your best kept secrets are supposed to remain exactly that -be secret. So why is someone once again spoiling key scenes to a Marvel movie like Iron Man 3, just like they did with The Amazing Spider-Man?
Pictures of two LEGO playsets for the Shane Black directed film have hit the ‘net and yes, they seem to be spoiling some key scenes from the movie.
Brick-based spoilerage stars up after the jump.
Called the “Malibu Mansion Attack” play set, the attack on Stark’s home by the Mandarin and an unknown character (what the hell is a Extremis Solider?) features Pepper Potts wearing something that looks rather familiar, confirming rumors that actress Gwyneth Paltrow would finally wear armor of her very own (thanks guys, really, I didn’t want that to be a surprise or anything.)
Next, the “Extremis Sea Port Battle” shows off a fight between Tony and James Rhodes as War Machine fighting a Extremis infected Aldrich Killian.
The “Iron Man vs. The Mandarin Ultimate Showdown” is pretty self-explanatory. We just have no idea what a flame thrower has to do with fighting Iron Man, he’s in a protected suit that’s temperature controlled.

I have yet to find a person not totally blown away by the latest Iron Man 3 trailer so it was a little surprising to this NerdBastard when news started to hit the Internet that Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige had taken the time to calm fan fears about the tone of the movie. I certainly wasn’t concerned by the tone of the latest trailer, I was thoroughly hyped up to see such serious action.
Well, somewhere out there, there must be some jittery fans that needed some hand holding because when Feige had the opportunity during his sit down with The West Austrailian, Fiege said:
“It’s not a serious movie, but we seriously dig into exploring more of Tony. The trick is just trying to make great movies. We try to make them all great, all different and all fresh. What you’ll see in Iron Man 3 is some very unique directions that were taken.”
Iron Man 3 Director Shane Black chimed in with:
“We’re not aiming for bigger, necessarily. We’re aiming for different and fresh and new. It’s all about capturing that lightning-in-a-bottle feel, about trying to get as much into this as we can. We’re looking to get a ton of thrills into a short space, to make a nice little stew for you.”
What do you think, would people stay away because of a darker tone in the latest trailer? I’m expecting the next trailer to be all slap stick, pie in the face, comedy now.
Iron Man 3 makes it’s way to theater screens on May 3, 2013.
