Guillermo del Toro Confirms He’s Discussing ‘Heaven Sent’ With WB
While there’s been a lot of talk about Warner Bros. and their dreams of getting a Justice League movie started, we learned last week they were talking with Guillermo del Toro about developing another super hero team movie. Del Toro has his eye on Heaven Sent, a flick that would team up many of DC’s darker and more mystical characters like Deadman, The Spectre, Swamp Thing, Constantine Hellblazer, Phantom Stranger, Zatanna, Zatara, Sargon, and Etrigan the Demon. It sure sounds a little out of the box but like I said before, with del Toro in charge this could be a smash.
Recently speaking with MTV del Toro confirmed his enthusiasm for the project, saying,
When somebody asked me about Justice League…I’m not involved in Justice League. I am discussing…I’ve been discussing with the fans and I’ve been very, very open about how much Swamp Thing was key when I was a kid. Comics in Mexico came on the first two days of the week. Around Tuesday and Wednesday I would go to the newsstand on my bicycle and I would get Swamp Thing every time it was available and I loved Jack Kirby’s Demon. I love Constantine and all that. You know, I’ve been pursuing doing something with them for many, many years. Hopefully it’ll come to pass. But we are still just discussing.
Okay, WB, let the man do what he wants! Who better to tackle bringing Swamp Thing back to the big screen, especially teamed with Deadman, Spectre, Etrigan the freakin’ Demon, than del Toro? He has such a knack for monsters who really aren’t so monstrous at heart, the heroes who look more frightening than any villain. That’s who these characters are. I don’t know, to me, this sounds like a no brainer, what do you think of del Toro possibly working on Heaven Sent for WB?

No Justice League for Guillermo del Toro, He’s Got His Own Super Hero Team in Mind
Forget the Justice League, the movie Warner Bros. is oh-so-desperate to make in order to challenge The Avengers, they may soon let Guillermo Del Toro make his own super hero movie using a different team of DC characters.
This all stems from WB being really pleased with Pacific Rim. It’s testing well and it looks like del Toro and WB might have a bonafide hit on their hands. Enough so that they’d be willing to let del Toro work on whatever the hell wants as his next project, and what he wants is to make is a supernatural team-up movie called Heaven Sent. The report is coming from the Latino Review who say the team would consist of Deadman, The Spectre, Swamp Thing, Constantine Hellblazer, Phantom Stranger, Zatanna, Zatara, Sargon and Etrigan the Demon.
Any other director and I think this worst idea ever, destined to fail, but del Toro? This sounds right up the Hellboy and Pan’s Labyrinth director’s alley. Now, were this to really happen it’d be years and years away, but what do you think? Does this sound like a flick you’d want to see?
