‘American Dad’ Moving to TBS in 2014

AMERICAN DAD: From

TBS is at it again, collecting the sloppy seconds from broadcast networks and building their own prime time line-ups. Deadline is reporting that Seth MacFarlane-produced series American Dad is leaving Fox’s “Animation Domination” block on Sunday nights and taking up residence on basic cable.

American Dad will officially make the move to TBS in 2014 (presumably in the fall of 2014 after the series final season on Fox) with a 15-episode order. American Dad premiered in 2005 shortly after the return of Family Guy to the Fox line-up. It helped cement MacFarlane as one of Fox’s top, in-house producers and helped lead McFarlane to dominating the “Animation Domination” Sunday line-up with the addition of The Cleveland Show. Fox didn’t order any more episodes of The Cleveland Show last spring, but the series still has episodes in the pipe.

There’s no official statement from Fox or MacFarlane yet, or any word on how this is going to impact the Sunday animation line-up. More news as it develops.
