Just discovered this totally hilarious parody video of the scene from The Dark Knight movie where Batman interrogates The Joker….the, now famous, “Interrogation Scene”. The animation is sort of crude & primitive but it’s still really funny with a weird sense of humor, enjoy!

All Bat-Blog Fans know that we post some cool Batman Backgrounds every “Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday”!! This week I was feeling kinda sad about missing the current “Batman: The Brave and The Bold” Cartoon TV Show so I thought the 1st one should be graphics from that great animated series. It’s a super close-up of Batman that I think is kinda groovy. The next one is sort of weird looking but it does make some very cool wallpaper, trust me! It shows batman & Robin zooming through Gotham City in their Batmobile car. I guess I need to explain that it’s an image from one of the slides in the super-rare 1960’s Batman Give-a-Show Projector Toy. BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT Animated Movie ACTION FIGURE SET
A Bat-Blog Fan named Chris sent these pics to us recently. He just bought this set of 3 GOTHAM KNIGHT Batman Movie Action Figures from the DC Universe animated film that came out last year. The 3 characters he got were Batman, Scarecrow, & Deadshot. I know a lot of you have probably seen this movie by now, but if not, it’s totally worth a look. It was actually pretty cool! I loved how they portrayed the Scarecrow in this film. He looked completely insane & sort of reminded me of the shape of an insect, very strange. The story with Deadshot was pretty cool too with it ending in a Subway Tunnel. That sequence had a lot of interesting visual effects added to it. Whoops! Sorry, back to the figures. Thanks Chris for sending these pics. I remember covering them when they came out but I posted official production photos from the toy company & these are actually better because they are the real deal! I actually don’t have these… but now I’ll have to get a set, they’re great.
BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Volume 3 DVD is Coming Out in February!
Well, it looks like Warner Bros will be releasing another BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Cartoon DVD. It is set to be released on February 2nd, 2010. This will be VOLUME 3 & it will feature 5 episodes: Journey to the Center of the Bat, The Eyes of Despero, Return of the Fearsome Fangs, Deep Cover for Batman, & Game Over for Owlman. Volumes 1 & 2 are each out already. Plus, look for the actual TV Series to begin again at the Cartoon Network on October 16th, 2009 ( which, by the way, is today! ).

RETAIL STORE EXCLUSIVES for Buying DVD of JUSTICE LEAGUE – CRISIS ON TWO EARTHS
OK, Here’s a list of all the Promo Deals the Retail Stores are having to promote sales of their DVD of JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON TWO EARTH. The 3 I’m covering are the major outlets: Best Buy, Amazon, & Target. I checked the Walmart website & they didn’t list anything so if they do something please let me know. There might also be other promotional items out there with other stores. I have tried to compile this information the best I can so if it’s not totally accurate then it’s not my fault, ha! Alright, here we go! Most of the stores on this list have a Free Exclusive if you buy the DVD 2-Disc Set or the Blu-Ray Copy only. Looks like you don’t get anything if you buy the regular DVD movie. Best Buy has an Exclusive 3″ Figure of OWLMAN ( yeah, you read that right, 3 inches. But it does look kinda cool though ). Amazon gives you a Free Lithograph Poster with a graphic from the animated film ( No Batman shown ). The movies you buy at Target have a special “Extra Short of The SPECTRE” that sounds pretty cool! But, at the Amazon website they show that they have it too ( I think Target sells a lot of stuff through Amazon, like they are partners or something ). If I get any more information on any new promotional items then I’ll be sure to post them here. So, stay tuned with the Bat-Blog!

VIDEO – New YOUNG JUSTICE Preview Clips “Welcome to Happy Harbor”
OK, to be totally honest, when I first heard the news about the new animated series on the Cartoon Network called “YOUNG JUSTICE” I really didn’t like the idea. I just knew it was going to be lame. Boy, was I wrong, ha! About a week or so ago I saw the 1st 2 episodes, it was a two-part story, and it was really good. The animation was great! The story was surprisingly very well written. I still sort of have issues with the whole “teenage angst” thing but I’m giving this show a chance & I hope they keep delivering great stuff. If you’re a fan of the DC Universe then you’re going to love the show.
Anyways, the next brand-new episode of YOUNG JUSTICE will be titled “Welcome to Happy Harbor” and it airs Friday, January 21st at 7:00 p.m. on the Cartoon Network.
The Basic Plot:After Speedy declines to join the new team, Robin, Aqualad and Kid Flash fear YOUNG JUSTICE is just a big joke…while new member Miss Martian fears there’s no room for her to be part of it. So when the four heroes and Superboy come up against Mister Twister, it looks like all their fears have just been realized…

BATMAN WALLPAPERS – Inspired by the Art of Alex Toth
For this week’s “Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday” I’m proud to say that the artwork for these 2 Batman Wallpaper Backgrounds were supplied by a friend to the Bat-Blog named Tom DeRosier. He said that when drawing them he was being inspired by the Comic Book Art of Alex Toth. Looking at them I can totally see the influence, especially the “painted brushstroke” black line. Toth worked in comics, on & off, for many decades. He was also a Lead Designer for Hanna-Barbera Animation. He worked on the 1970’s SUPER FRIENDS Cartoon & this is where our friend took inspiration. Mr. Toth died in 2006 at the age of 78. I met him once, at a Comic Book Convention in the late 70’s. He was extremely nice & a lot of fun to talk to. Plus, he was a GREAT Artist.

Here’s an interesting Fan-Made BATMAN CGI Animation Video I found on YouTube from a user named “MarvelZombie2099” and it’s his personal homage to Gotham City. He created some really nice Batman and Robin 3-D models and later decided to make an animation starring the Dynamic Duo. His goal was to create a Silver Age Batman story that focused on crime fighting and action without the modern Dark Knight angst. The characters look pretty good & I totally love the Batmobile car! As usual, with Batman, the Villains steal the show!

BATMAN – THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS – New Promo Photos from the Future Animated Movie
You might remember from last year “BATMAN: YEAR ONE” was made into a full-length animated feature by Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment. Well, now another classic story by Frank Miller is going to get the “DC Universe Animated Film” treatment! This movie will take on the iconic 1986 Graphic Novel, BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS!
This story doesn’t even need an introduction. Basically, it’s set in the near future when Bruce Wayne is an aging old man, retired. But because of some new events he is brought out of retirement. This Graphic Novel is so important to Bat-History that I’m sort of shocked they’re even trying to to do this in animated form. But, it’s got Bruce Timm behind it, as well as an amazing cast, so I know it should be pretty cool!
Here are some recent promo photos that have been leaked. My two favorites are the iconic “Lightning Bolt Flash” picture up above and then getting to see Carrie Kelley again, the 13 year old “Girl Robin”.
New UK Book – HOLY FRANCHISE, BATMAN! By Gary Collinson
I just got some news about a brand-new “Batman Movie & TV History” Book titled, “Holy Franchise, Batman!”, which was written by Gary Collinson. The book covers the ENTIRE film and television history of the character. We’re talking from the 1940’s Serials to Tim Burton, Joel Schumacher, Christopher Nolan, and all of the animated TV cartoons. It even has a full episode guide for the 1966 Adam West and Burt Ward TV Series.
One thing though, I think this book will only be available in the UK & I’m guessing it will be available on UK Amazon? Sorry, Publisher didn’t share many details. But one thing I do know is that the release date is June 29th, 2012. Also, sorry my description is kinda vague but the Publisher never sent me a Review Copy either. So, I can’t really review it or anything. But it sounds like a fun book, especially for fans of the bat-films.
