Cute Pin-Up Models – Batgirl & Harley Quinn!
A Bat-Blog Reader, named Rob, sent us these 2 photos he said he randomly found on the internet. They show 2 extremely cute pin-up girl models dressed up in costumes like Batgirl & Harley Quinn, in bed, on a pile of comic books!! Mmmeeeooowww, this has gotta be every Batman Fan’s total fantasy! Not too mention all the comic books nerds ( I mean “nerds” in a good way ) out there who would totally freak-out if their girlfriends did this, ha ha! Of course you know some of the comic book collectors would complain that they are “damaging some MINT copies” of their favorite titles, ha ha! Thank you Rob, these pics are totally awesome! Oh yeah, hey fellas, please leave a comment & let us tastefully know which pin-up girl is YOUR favorite!!
DC Direct: AME-COMI Anime Hero & Heroine PVC Statue Series
The pictures up above are 4 different brand-new “Japan Anime-Inspired” PVC Statue Figures to keep an eye out for in the future. They’re called “Ame-Comi Hero & Heroine Series”. Of course they are Japanese-Style versions of Batman, Robin, Modern Batgirl ( Cassandra Cain ), & Catwoman. Each figure measures approx. 7 1/2 to 9″ tall & come with a display stand inside a window box. They also vary in price from $60.00 to $70.00. Batgirl & Catwoman have a release date of October 21st, 2009. Batman & Robin won’t be out until around February 10th, 2010. ( Thanks Saul for sending me the improved photos ).
Brand-New Vintage-Style BATMAN & BATGIRL T-Shirts!!
While surfing the net the other night I came across these brand-new ultra-cool Batman T-Shirts that I thought I would share here. They’re some new designs that just came out. I thought the one with the Batgirl design is too awesome because it looks like a Vintage Halloween Costume. The Batman one in the middle looks like it’s from the 1980’s ( or even the 1970’s ) & the one with just the “Batman Logo” is cool because it’s the modern version you don’t see on T-Shirts very often. If you’re looking for good deals & great service online then I suggest clicking the button down below.
Video: Super Friends at the Water Park Show!
Back in 1979 some tourist shot this video so that, in the future, we could see it! This is the SUPER FRIENDS event at the Cypress Gardens Water Amusement Park. Performers dressed up as Batman, Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Mr. Freeze, The Joker, The Penguin, etc. all get totally crazy. Finding video, or even any information, about this event is really difficult. Plus, I don’t think there is any audio in this video. That, or my speakers are broken, ha ha! But really I think the best part of the video is seeing the cool Bat-Boat! If you saw this event as a child then this video will bring back some great memories of a fun summer vacation!
Hot BAT-BABE Featured in New Army and Air Force Exchange Halloween Costume Sales Flyer
Here’s sort of a funny newspaper advertisement sent in by our good buddy Ed. It shows 3 Hot Babes pushing Halloween Costumes, with one of them being Batgirl. It’s from this year’s 2009 Army and Air Force Exchange (AAFES) Halloween sales flyer. He said he thought it was interesting that, of all the costumes they could have picked, they chose the Bat-Babe as one of the three highlighted. Well, Ed, I do have to agree that she is a Bat-Babe for sure! But that Freddie Kruger “Nightmare on Elm Street” Babe isn’t too bad either, ha ha! Thanks for sending it in.
New BATMAN STATUES To Look Out For Next Year, 2010!
I hate doing posts early where you show items that are not coming out for a long time but I decided, “What the heck, let’s show ’em anyway because they’re cool!”. So, here are a few Batman Statues you’ll be able to find early in 2010. The 1st one is totally amazing! It’s a 1/2 Scale-Size Art Bust of TWO-FACE. It looks like one of those where the clothing is actual fabric & everything else is ceramic. He looks pretty creepy if ya ask me. The next one is a retro-30’s style BATMAN ( Full Figure – DC Chronicles series ). It’s great because it’s just some vintage “Golden Age” goodness! Now, I saved the best one for last! This is BATGIRL from the “Women of the DC Universe” Series. She looks cool all perched-up on a building’s gargoyle. When it gets closer to the release time for these we’ll announce it here at the Bat-Blog, so stay tuned!
ART: The Most Elaborate BATMAN COMIC BOOK TATTOO I Have Ever Seen!!
OK, The Bat-Blog is sort of famous for posting Batman-related tattoos that readers send in. We get one every now & then but this one is totally crazy! Of course I mean “crazy” in a good way, ha ha! This is the most elaborate one I have ever seen…EVER! It belongs to a new friend named Damien who actually went to a Tattoo Convention & had a few different Tattoo Artists do this all in one day!! There are images of Batman, Heath Ledger Joker, Batgirl, Riddler, Bat-Symbol, Comic Book Logo, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy’s Lips, a Back & White Comic Book Page ( Animated Series Two-Face ), an Homage to Carmine Infantino, & much more!! OK, This thing would be way to complex to explain so I’ll just let the photos do the talking. I wanna thank Damien for sharing these photos. Man, your Bat-Tat is INSANE!! It really is a work of ART or, I should say, WORKS of art!

Video: BATGIRL & THE JOKER – WWE Game Mods
Here’s one of those weird videos where some Gamer takes a video game & replaces a few of the character models with different people. They’re called MODS. This one is a WWE Wrestling Match with Batgirl & The Joker, ha ha ha!
BATMAN, BATGIRL, & CATWOMAN Wallpaper Backgrounds
It’s time again for Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday! OK, these Bat-Backgrounds are a lot of fun this week. The 1st one is a close-up shot of the iconic Golden Age graphics that appear on the issue of Detective Comics #27. Which, of course, is the very First Appearance of the character. I’ve always loved this pic of Batman swooping down on some criminals. Speaking of criminals, the next one is more Modern Day & shows our friends THE BATSQUAD having some fun! These lovely costumed-ladies are from New Jersey. So, if you’re even thinking about committing a crime there, don’t! They are it’s protectors! ( yeah, I know Catwoman is really a Villain, but this one is good & fights crime ).
Two NEW BATMAN Magazine Articles To Look Out For
In the current ( March 2010 ) issue of “Antiques & Collecting” our friend Fred Grandinetti has written an article on Batman TV Show Collectibles. I have not seen it yet but plan to check it out this weekend. Has anyone seen it? Also, Fred just wrote an article about “Batgirl in The Media” that will be in Movie Collector’s World # 742, April 2010. OK, now I have read this story & it’s pretty interesting. Basically it just sort of outlines the history of the character & her many different appearances in all kinds of media, like: Comics, TV, Movies, Animation, etc… Look for the Batgirl story later at this LINK!
BATMAN THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Desktop Wallpaper Backgrounds THE DOOM PATROL
The next episode of the BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD animated TV Show ( which airs tonight on the Cartoon Network, Oct 8th, at 7:30 pm ) will be titled “The Last Patrol”. It’s gonna feature some extremely obscure superheroes named “The DOOM PATROL”. Remember them? ( Wow, this cartoon never ceases to amaze me, it’s GREAT! ). So, to celebrate, here are a few Wallpaper Backgrounds to brighten your desktop! The 1st one features Batgirl & Batman caught in a deadly trap ( Will they escape?! ). The 2nd one shows a few members from The DOOM PATROL…Awesome!
BATGIRL BACKGROUNDS – Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!
On Wednesday, every week, the Bat-Blog Website posts 2 Free BATMAN Backgrounds. We call it “Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!” We always try to go with some theme or idea & BATGIRL seemed like a good subject. So, here we go! The 1st image is a close-up shot of a Batgirl Action Figure. It’s from when she was in the Animated Series TV Cartoon. I know the image is kinda strange, but please try it as a desktop background, it’s actually sort of fun! Now, speaking of TV. The next wallpaper is a publicity photo of Batgirl from the 1960’s BATMAN TV Show. Of course this is the Actress Yvonne Craig & she looks totally wonderful in her bat-suit costume, Hubba Hubba! We hope you enjoy these, but if you don’t, then we have hundreds more available in our posts from the past. You can click the “More Wallpapers” Link Button down below:
TODAY IN BAT-HISTORY It’s Barbara Rush’s Birthday!
The BAT-BLOG.COM would like to extend the happiest of “Happy Birthday” Greetings to Barbara Rush! She was born today on January 4th, 1927. Serious TV Fans of the 1966 BATMAN Series will know her as “Nora Clavicle”, the Feminist Evil Super-Villain! That character is famous for putting Batman, Batgirl, and Robin in a trap called the “Siamese Human Knot”. Will they ever escape?! For highlights of that check out the video clip down below:
1966 BATMAN TV SHOW – Fisher Price Little People Custom Toys!
Long time BAT-BLOG.COM Readers know that we like to celebrate creativity here so when I saw these cool Custom Toys I knew they had to be posted! Actually, our Good Friend BATMOBILLY spotted them at the 1966 BATMAN Message Board ( Link Button always posted on the far right-hand side of this page ). Some guy named “Turkey Bowinkle” made these amazing figures inspired by his Daughter’s Fisher-Price Little People Toys. But the cool thing is that all these figures are characters ( both Heroes & Villains! ) from the 1966 BATMAN TV Show! Plus, they’re all done extremely well and also capture the personality of every Actor. We got: Batman, Robin The Boy Wonder, Batgirl, The Joker, The Penguin, Riddler, King Tut, Mr. Freeze, and Bookworm!
( Thanks Batmobilly and Great Job Mr. Bowinkle, Sir! )
BATMAN Golden Age Artist SHELDON MOLDOFF Dead at 91
I have some very sad news to share this morning. The Golden Age Comic Book Artist Sheldon Moldoff died last Wednesday, he was 91. In 1940 he created Hawkman for DC Comics and became a major Cover Artist for many very iconic comic books. His work was always amazing! In the 1950’s he became Bob Kane’s “Ghost Artist” ( with Kane, of course, taking all the credit ). He drew “Batman” from 1953 to 1967. He was responsible for creating many very iconic characters like Bat-Mite, Ace The Bat-Hound, Batwoman, and the Original Bat-Girl ( Betty Kane ). He also co-created Clayface, Poison Ivy, Dr. Achilles Milo, and Mr. Freeze.
To say that he was extremely important in “Bat-History” is no exaggeration. During his life he became a Cult Hero among Cartoonists, Animators, & other Comic Book Artists. In later life he was seen at a lot of Comic Book Conventions where he loved to meet his Fans. The artwork shown here are some of the Comicon Sketches he did. He will be missed & his contributions to both BATMAN and the Comic Book Industry are unlimited. I’m personally very sad about his passing and wish to extent my deepest condolences to his Friends and Family, “Shelly” will be missed, deeply. R.I.P. Sheldon “Shelly” Moldoff.
Damian’s BATMAN BAT-SUIT COSPLAY at Australia’s SUPANOVA Pop Culture Expo
OK, This post was created to share some wonderful photos from our Good Friend, Damian. This guy has been working on the perfect BATMAN Bat-Suit for a few years now and really has something cool going. These are some pics where he recently attended the SUPANOVA Show in full-costume. Supanova is a Pop Culture Expo in Australia that just celebrated it’s 10th anniversary. The photos pretty much explain themselves so I won’t go on about that but if you’re interested in learning more about this event then just Click HERE! Oh yeah, Thanks Damian for sharing these fun pics and your suit is lookin’ AWESOME Mate!
Vintage 1970’s BATMAN AND BATGIRL COSTUME Family Photo
I recently became Friends with a cute girl in California named Cyndi who was kind enough to share this amazing Vintage BATMAN Family Photo. It’s a picture of her parents, Sharon and John, at a Halloween Party in the 1970’s!! They both went as Batman and Batgirl ( or, is that “Batwoman”? ha ha ). The costumes were homemade, which is the best, and Cyndi said she can still remember her Dad cutting-out the Bat-Logos for them out of felt.
One personal note I’d like to share is that, sadly, Cyndi reported that her Dad is no longer with us but, “He would really enjoy the fact that people would see this picture and it would bring them some happiness”. That’s very cool. So this post if for him. I already know that people will love it because it’s fun and wacky! ( Thanks Cyndi for sharing this cool pic!! )

BATMAN VIDEO – Here Comes Batgirl! – 2012 KAPOW! Comic Con
Our Good Buddies in NJ, BatDave & Dennis Pellicano, proudly present BATMAN, ROBIN, BATGIRL & The 1966 BATMOBILE in all their full-color glory at the recent 2012 KAPOW! Comic Con. This event was filmed live at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters in Manalapan, New Jersey. The Titanic-Trio of Superheroes thrilled the young and old alike during a gorgeous autumn afternoon.
This awesome event promoted the importance of reading and education, utilizing the Gotham Guardians as positive role models for the young children while being an inspiration for many of the special needs kids that were in attendance. No child left that day without a FREE photo with an autograph of their favorite Crime Fighter. As always, almost every scene was shot in one take due to our sad budgetary restrictions. HUGE thanks to the organizers of KAPOW! and to MIKE & MING of AMC’s ‘Comic Book Men’. The sweet 1966 Batmobile was provided by jovial John Brown and Gotham City Supercars.
