BATMAN: Under The Japanese Influence!

I recently acquired 2 different Batman Graphics that I wanted to share that have a distinct “Japanese Look” about them. The 1st one is a cool pic drawn by a friend to the Bat-Blog named Sean Hartter. He’s a very talented graphic artist who has recently been totally inspired by the whole “Batman 1960’s Japan” era. He did this drawing of a strange-colored bootleg Batman toy & it’s really great! You know the type of toy, they use weird colors to get around the whole copyright issue, funny! The artwork is wonderful ( Sean also sent the “Batman Toy Car” graphic that is in the Bat-Blog’s header this week ). Now, the 2nd graphic is one I came across in a Japanese Message Board where they created a Fantasy-Batman character. It’s sort of a “What If..” scenario. Like, “What If Batman were a Shogun Warrior-type character?”. This is what somebody came up with & it’s extremely cool! It’s also very well drawn. The funny thing is I could not read ANYTHING there but did enjoy some nice artwork. In hindsight I wish I would have bookmarked it…Doh!

DC Direct: AME-COMI Anime Hero & Heroine PVC Statue Series

The pictures up above are 4 different brand-new “Japan Anime-Inspired” PVC Statue Figures to keep an eye out for in the future. They’re called “Ame-Comi Hero & Heroine Series”. Of course they are Japanese-Style versions of Batman, Robin, Modern Batgirl ( Cassandra Cain ), & Catwoman. Each figure measures approx. 7 1/2 to 9″ tall & come with a display stand inside a window box. They also vary in price from $60.00 to $70.00. Batgirl & Catwoman have a release date of October 21st, 2009. Batman & Robin won’t be out until around February 10th, 2010. ( Thanks Saul for sending me the improved photos ).

Hey BATMAN FANS! It’s Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

For people new to the Bat-Blog I guess I gotta explain that every single Wednesday we go a little crazy & post a few Batman-Themed Desktop Wallpapers you can use to brighten up your PC Desktop or use as a background in a MySpace Layout, whew! This week both of them have a “Batman in Gotham City” vibe that you might like. The first one is a high-quality graphic I found that was once a hi-rez scan from a Batman comic book. The coloring & sharpness are really great! The next one is even more special because it’s totally custom-made. It was drawn by our friend, Sean Hartter, who’s a really talented Graphic Artist. It’s a Japanese-influenced “ad poster” with minimal colors. The cool thing about it, you might not notice, is that the image is filtered & it looks like an actual woodcut print on paper. Which again, is sort of an homage to the whole Japan printing technique. In other words, it looks like the real deal but it’s not, ha ha! Thanks again Sean, another cool wallpaper!

Cool Japanese BATMAN Apple iPod Earphones

In Japan there is a company called SKULL-CANDY who makes these very cool Audio Earphone Sets for your Mp3 Players, mainly the Apple iPod . Here are 2 they made with a Batman & Superman Theme. The neat thing is that I think they come with a set of Vinyl Figures too! Sorry, Not really sure. The Japan-based website I found these on was totally Japanese & I could NOT read a thing, ha ha! But either way these look like a lot of fun. As you can see, the ear-pieces have a set of snap-on “Bat-Logo” covers. But I gotta say that I totally love the vinyl figures way more!

The TARDIS As a Comfy And Crazy Looking Kigurumi Japanese Pajama

jam6

I don’t care what they’re called because these pajamas look like the most comfortable things I have ever seen and I want a pair. Kigurumi is a combination of the Japanese word Kiru (wear) and Nuigurumi (stuffed animal) and the description is perfect! You can get your own super comfy kigurumi that looks like the TARDIS, Finn and Jake from Adventure Time, Soft Kitty, or even Rainbow Dash.

See more pictures after the break…
