THE JOKER GOON LEATHER JACKET By Universal Designs
There’s a new fashion clothing company out there now called UNIVERSAL DESIGNS & one of their new products is gonna be this Leather Jacket modeled after the uniform worn by “Bob The Goon” in the 1989 Batman film. Except, the twist is, the graphics are the modern day “Heath Ledger Joker” from The Dark Night movie & not the comic book version that was used in the older movie. But, I guess it’s sort of an homage…that’s cool!

BATMAN & JOKER Halloween Costume Photos!!
The Bat-Blog has been going crazy goo goo over Halloween this year & many readers have been completely wonderful about sending us pictures of themselves wearing Batman-themed costumes ( Thanks! ). Here’s a great example of something from the past & more modern-day. The 1st picture was sent in by our good friend Ian, who lives in Canada. It’s an older vintage photo ( about 1966 or 67 ) showing him on his parent’s porch & he’s BATMAN! I’m not sure who his friend is but they were stuck being YOGI THE BEAR! Now, they both look totally ready to go hit the neighborhood because they not only have their Plastic Pumpkins to fill with candy but they ALSO have some super-giant shopping bags! Now that’s total ambition there, ha ha! I remember one year my cousin & I each used a large over-sized pillowcase…we raked it in! The 2nd photo is a lot more recent, & sort of “not Halloween-related”, but it does show a GREAT Joker Costume! This is a good friend of the Bat-Blog named Paul. He’s totally into creating Batman Costumes & this is one of my favorites. The great thing about this pic, other than the Joker Costume being totally great, is the fact that he took it in front of the real-life Presidential WHITE HOUSE, ha ha ha! I wonder if the Secret Service brought their warning level up a notch? That’s hilarious! I wanna thank Ian for sharing his wonderful family photo. THE JOKER WALLPAPER Artwork By Gerry Cleary
I recently met a Graphic Artist named Gerry Cleary. The cool thing is that he is a HUGE Batman Fan & sent me this amazing artwork he did of the Joker. Of course it’s the “Heath Ledger version” of the character from “The Dark Knight” movie. I knew I had to share it here & since the graphic was so large I thought I would make it a Batman Desktop Wallpaper. It has a cartoon style but is also very detailed. Look at the Joker Playing Cards, they’re cool. The pattern on Joker’s shirt is exactly like the one worn by Heath in the movie, a nice detail. The 1st picture shown here is the Desktop Wallpaper I made & the 2nd photo is Gerry’s original graphic. As you can see this guy has a lot of talent. ART: The Most Elaborate BATMAN COMIC BOOK TATTOO I Have Ever Seen!!
OK, The Bat-Blog is sort of famous for posting Batman-related tattoos that readers send in. We get one every now & then but this one is totally crazy! Of course I mean “crazy” in a good way, ha ha! This is the most elaborate one I have ever seen…EVER! It belongs to a new friend named Damien who actually went to a Tattoo Convention & had a few different Tattoo Artists do this all in one day!! There are images of Batman, Heath Ledger Joker, Batgirl, Riddler, Bat-Symbol, Comic Book Logo, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy’s Lips, a Back & White Comic Book Page ( Animated Series Two-Face ), an Homage to Carmine Infantino, & much more!! OK, This thing would be way to complex to explain so I’ll just let the photos do the talking. I wanna thank Damien for sharing these photos. Man, your Bat-Tat is INSANE!! It really is a work of ART or, I should say, WORKS of art!

BATMAN WALLPAPER BACKGROUNDS – Neal Adams’ Comic Art
I just recently realized that, like a moron, I didn’t post any FREE Batman Backgrounds on “Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday”. So, to make up for it here are 2 really great ones you will hopefully enjoy. They came about because of a suggestion from a friend named Satish. He said he wanted to see some “Neal Adams artwork”. These wallpapers were made with graphics that were found on the front / back of some Vintage 1970’s LP Album Covers. Remember those awesome stories published by POWER RECORDS? Well, here they are! In that one with Batman and Robin’s faces I seriously love that old Batmobile car, very cool! The other one has the Joker which is always fun. BATMAN WALLPAPERS OF THE JOKER – Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!
Here are 2 Cool Wallpaper Backgrounds of THE JOKER that were submitted by some extremely awesome Bat-Blog Fans! the 1st one is a photo taken the other night at the BATMAN LIVE event in the UK. It was shot by our friend Billy. This is a stage prop where a giant-size JOKER HEAD comes out on stage. The Joker’s eyeballs, teeth, & tongue are actually real people and they all tumble out at once, it’s a pretty cool visual effect! Next is a Tribute to Brian Bolland’s BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE Graphic Novel. This was sent in by a Graphic Artist named Chris Bacon. He took some classic artwork and gave it a whole new look. Billy’s BATMAN LIVE WORLD ARENA TOUR Adventure in the UK
Last week, in the UK, the BATMAN LIVE World Arena Tour had started & ever since then we have got a ton of personal reports. The good news, all the reviews are really positive. I’ve been keeping up with this show from the beginning & have been kinda skeptical. I mean, they were either going to make this show amazing or it would totally bomb. Luckily, it’s a great event, whew! Here are a few photos sent in by our friend Billy, who is lucky enough to live in the UK. He said the show was totally great! Now, at the show he only had a camera phone but he did manage to get a few nice pics.
In the 1st one we get a really good look at the costumes for Batman and Robin, nice. Next, is a scene where a HUGE Joker Hot Air Balloon appears on stage! Then, the last 2 show the giant-sized bat-shaped video screen. I’ve heard that this is used to great effect for making transitions to other locations. Plus, it gave the show a great visual effect, like seeing tons of Bats flying across Gotham City or the Batmobile driving through the city. Oh yeah, in the last photo you can see a photo of our friend Billy. Yes, photographic proof that he was there, ha!
New LEGO BATMAN – DC Universe Super Heroes Set – The Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape #6857
I just got some news about another soon to come out LEGO BATMAN Play Set from the DC Universe Super Heroes Series and it’s called “The Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape” #6857. It’s a large Lego Toys Playset that comes with five Lego Figures: Batman, Robin, Riddler, Joker, and Harley Quinn!! Check it out, it looks pretty cool!
ART – Chris Mason’s JOKER STEALING THE 1966 BATMOBILE Painting
OK, I know I’m on sort of a “Batman-inspired Art Kick” recently but we have been getting a ton of cool submissions from Bat-Blog Fans. Plus, I can’t help it that my readers are smart, creative, talented people ( ha! ). Here’s a great example of that creativity in action. This Pop Art Painting was done by our good friend Chris Mason. It shows “The Joker stealing the ’66 Batmobile”. You know the car, it’s the George Barris Custom, otherwise known as the 1966 TV Show version, a total fan favorite! It’s done in that famous Ed “Big Daddy” Roth style that was originated in the Hot Rod Culture of the 1960’s. Just think about those old vintage “Weird-O’s” toys & model kits. Then you’ll know what I’m sayin’! But regardless, the artwork here is just totally great! Actually, I mean to say… completely beautiful! The pictures shown here sort of explain their selves but basically you have a close-up detail shot ( the 1st pic ), a nice picture showing the work in progress, then some photographic proof of Chris actually doing the painting ( in case you don’t believe us, ha ha! ), & finally the completed work. Now the last graphic, showing the final artwork, it’s BIG enough ( if you click on it ) to be made into a Wallpaper Background for your PC. Yes, that’s a bonus! Not only do you get some beautiful eye-candy to look at but you also receive a souvenir of the special moment. Yeah, the Bat-Blog is pretty awesome, I know ( just kidding ). First Look BATMAN ARKHAM ASYLUM Video Game Action Figures
Wow! Check out these BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Action Figures! As everyone knows the video game was a smash hit. I mean, it won “Game of the Year” around the world! With it’s popularity Warner Bros has capitalized on a few products. Mainly there have been a few T-Shirts & Statues. Well, now they’re going to make some action figures & they look pretty awesome! The first wave will feature Batman, The Joker, Scarecrow, & Harley Quinn. Oh yeah, the Joker figure will also come with a small Scarface Ventriloquist Doll . About the only information on these new toys right now is that they will be about 6″ tall & heavily articulated. DC Direct has not given an exact release date yet but stay tuned to the Bat-Blog & we will let you know. In the mean time here’s some pictures to totally drool over, ha! New OVERSTREET COMIC BOOK PRICE GUIDE 40th Edition is Out!
If you have ever collected comics at any time over the last 40 years then you have probably heard of the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide. It’s basically the bible for comic book nerds all over the world ( I mean “nerds” in a good way, ha! ). I know when I was a little kid & young teen, heavily into collecting comic books, I always bought a brand-new copy every year… & totally loved it! In fact, once I went to a convention & actually met Robert M. Overstreet ( The guy who wrote the book! He said, “Hey, call me Bob!” ) & he was a very nice man. Plus, just talking with him I could see that he truly loves pop culture & doing the guide every year is a total labor of joy for him, so, that’s cool. Well, the reason I’m mentioning the guide book here is because of the cover to the latest issue, the 40th edition & it features Batman! Acclaimed artist Mark Chiarello ( Batman/Houdini: The Devil’s Workshop ) supplies the cover art. If I remember right, I think the “cover story” is about Jerry Robinson ( the creator of both the Joker & Robin, the Boy Wonder ). BATMAN is at the Target Store Dollar Bins Again!
I got a wonderful email last night from a Bat-Blog Reader named Matthew who reported that TARGET Retail Stores are carrying Batman-related merchandise in their “Dollar Bins” again, awesome! So, be sure to keep an eye out on your next trip there. The “Dollar Bins” are usually located near the front of the store, as soon as you enter. Personally I really love the fun stuff they sell. Matthew said he bought a Batman Sticker Pack (with a play scene), 2 Activity Books, and 2 Jumbo Activity Books. There were also a lot more items that he did not purchase like: Another Sticker Pack, Motion Stickers, 4 Packs of Crayons (Batman themed and Joker themed), Markers, Push-Up Pencils, and 2 little Childrens Books one of which was a Riddler story. These are just in time for Back to School! Plus remember, you are never to old to color in a Batman Coloring Book, ha ha! JOKER SCENES – DC Universe Online Video Game
This is just a quick post to show some eye-candy from the brand-new DC UNIVERSE ONLINE Video Game. These pics mainly show “Joker location” scenes with the Clown Prince of Crime, Harley Quinn, & Batman. One is the lobby is at the “Regal Hotel” and another one is inside the “Fun House”. Also, the 1st pic is the box art for the packaging…nice! This game might be coming out sometime in November. That would be cool because it would be a great Christmas gift! ( Hint Hint )
Weird Batman Backgrounds – Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!
For this week’s “Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday” I thought I would post some Batman Wallpapers that are just totally weird! Yeah, I know, these are kind of strange but they still make an interesting background on your desktop. The 1st one is sort of an homage to the older BATMAN BEYOND TV cartoon. I did it because I’m very excited about the “Batman Beyond: The Complete Series” coming to DVD. The next one is a wonderful image of the JOKER ( Cesar Romero ) from the 1966 Batman TV Show that I found while surfing the net. So, whattya think of these? Good? Bad? Well, the Bat-Blog has 100’s more you can see if you did through the Bat-Archives that’s located on the left side of this blog, about 1/2 way down.

BATMAN TIN TOYS – Toy Collection from Thailand!
WARNING: Here’s a couple of pictures of part of an amazing Batman Tin Toy Collection that will make you drool for hours. I’m warning you now that if you stare too long at these pics then you will start to cry…this stuff is that cool & that rare, ha! These photos are from our friend “BAT-CAT” who lives in Thailand. There are many examples of some super-rare Japanese Tin Toy Robots. I love that the Dark Knight has been so popular in Japan! Well, the pair of Batman & Robin Bubble Bath SOAKY Containers ( far left ) are from the USA, 1966. So is the “Jack Nicholson Joker” & “Michael Keaton Batman” Tin Toy Robots on the lower right-hand side. I remember when those came out around the time of the 1989 movie. Also, the 2 vinyl figures on the very far right, where Batman & Robin look sort of like cute little children, those are from the 1970’s & were sold in the USA. Everything else is pretty much from the 1960’s & “Made In Japan”. WOW! What a great selection of very hard to find bat-collectibles!! ( Thanks Bat-Cat ).
