‘Iron Man 3′ Spoilers – Radioactive Man and the New Mark XLVII Armor

Iron Man 3 is just under 8 months away, and though most of the big rumors have already come and gone, there’s still little bits here and there for the spoiler-hunters to scavenge. Our latest batch of information concerns the very-possible presence of Radioactive Man and a few details on the new Iron Man Mark XLVII armor. Read on if spoilers don’t scare you away.

The post-credit scene has pretty much a standard of the film industry these days. Those who manage to wait through 15 minutes of end credits are rewarded with either a last bit of kick to top off their movie experience or, especially in the case of Marvel flicks, a brief set-up of some character or another that leads into whatever happens to be on the studio’s production list for the next few years.

It’s long been known that Marvel was thinking about introducing Chen Lu (Radioactive Man) during his pre-radioactive days. They first went to Andy Lau to play the role, but he dropped out. Now, it looks like the part may be filled by Xueqi Wang. Apparently, the actor was spied chatting with Iron Man 3 executive producer Dan Mintz and his agency has since confirmed the meeting.

Given that Edgar Wright is getting ready to go on the Ant-Man film and that Radioactive Man and him have a history together, it’s a distinct possibility that they’ll be teasing Wright’s upcoming addition to the Marvel universe. Whether the glowing green menace will show up at all during the rest of the film is, as of yet, unknown.

And in other news… more about the new Iron Man suit that was publically teased during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The folks over at Latino Review managed to sneakily secure some information about the armor, including the name of the new suit and what some of its capabilities might be.

Warning! This one is pretty spoiler-y.

The Extremis-enhanced bad guys under direction of Ben Kingsley’s Mandarin villain are going to be too much for Tony to handle on his own, so he thinks ahead, thinks big and has a plan. Tony’s about to go out and fight some bad guys when he mentions the Mark XLVII to Pepper Potts. Pepper asks what happened to the other forty and Tony just smiles.

From the cockpit of Mark XLVII Tony is able to control multiple armors in battle. We over here at LR have been vaguely aware of an action scene where Tony was going to control multiple Iron Man suits (presumably they look similar to distract his enemies as to the location of kill-able Iron Man Prime), but the number 40 seems…awesome. 40 Iron Men.

Well, it certainly sounds epic enough. Let’s hope they can pull it off without just making into a “lots-of-robots-fighting” gimmick like what happened at the end of Iron Man 2.

Keep watch with the Nerdbastards crew for more spoilers (if you dare) and don’t forget to mark May 3rd, 2013 on your calendar for the Iron Man 3 release.

Thanks to the folks at screenrant and Latino Review for the secret sauce.
